SMG in M roadster/coupe??? - 10-14-2006, 07:17 PM

I went to a dealer w/ one of my freinds today who is looking to buy an M coupe/roadster. The salesperson told him that SMG will be a new option for '07, I called him on this and expressed that I found his information hard to believe.

Same engine as the M3, so I don't see much of a problem.

Even still, BMW didn't make it an option for '06, so I don't see why it would be an option for '07??? Just the same they may have fine tuned the system for use in the M coupe and roadster.

Hopefully it's SMG III and not II.

If anything, it'll most likely be SMG II ... no need any R&D this way.

BMW said early on the M versions of the Z4 would all be with manual transmissions, so that dealer sounds a little fishy. However manufactures have suprised buyers before

Personally, even if they do offer SMG, i'll take the manual.

Thank God, finally.

Now maybe some decent optional tyres like P Zero Corsas and the B.S. and Cayman S are cooked.
