Excuse me? Just_me is right here man! You and Mr Mercedes do not like the Z4, and a comment like "anyone can see that" on something as subjective as looks is not proper. If you don't like the Z4 coupe fine, but there is absolutely NO need to post stupid crap like the Z4 and ugly being the same in a thread in the BMW section of this board praising the Z4 design by it's real fans.

I for one DO see classic roadster elements (like the long bonnet, small back, something the SLK is sorely missing), smooth and flowing lines and TRUE all time classic beauty in this car. Other members here see them too, and like to talk about the great design. Strange huh, opinions?

Just_me was clearly talking in a lighthearted way untill you came to raise your voice against what basicly is a BMW member on his own board 'defending' the car we are talking about when a guy called Mr Mercedes comes in to basicly say the Z4 is ugly.
You, as a mod (even though you too don't like the Z4, but I can't care less about that) should have raised your voice against Mr. Mercedes, if anyone. He is 'bashing' the Z4 in a positive thread in the Z4 section of the board from my point of view. And that's exactly where the mods should come in.

Martin, as a mod I suggest you take somethings through PM, its not worth creating a mess like this in a thread. As a mod you also have a power to lock, delete and change threads. You can also bann people if you dont think they behave.

Anyway, since my appologise, lets get back to topic. So far we had 2 polls with Z4 and one of the polls the Z4 won over Audi shooting-brake and the other poll Z4 lost against SLK55 but only by six votes. My conclusions is that people actually do like Z4

The fact remains klier that just because a Mercedes supporting member puts forward that "gorgeous" + Z4 is a contradiction in terms in a light-hearted, witty fashion is no reason to tell that member to get over themselves and then call Mercs ugly just because these are the hallowed halls of a BMW thread. Are you telling me that a Mercedes fan can't put forward an opinion (albeit a moderately contentious one) in a BMW thread? Sheesh.

It's nice to see that the BMW fans do at least stick together.

Oh and by the way, if you'll kindly recall the Z4 is one of my favourite BMWs,(in fact one of my all time great) drives ever and I positively love the looks of it. But gorgeous (something of exquisite beauty) it is not. Yes, that's an opinion.

Anyone could easily have interpreted that as a personal attack. I know in all probability though it wasn't, it's just easy for language to get misinterpreted, so it's all good.

And Klier, you feel Martinbo should have called me up on my post, and then to even mention the prospect of a banning. I know you said you wouldn't want me banned, but why even mention it? On what grounds do I come even remotely close to a banning? If banning on the grounds of that comment could even be considered, 1/2 of all us would have been banned months ago.

As for this being a positive thread about the z4, that means one can't express their oppinion, even if it is in the most lighthearted of ways? Hasn't stopped BMW fans from voicing their oppionions LOUD and CLEAR in POSITIVE threads about MB.

I think many BMW fans got this thing wrong.. they belive that the BMW section is a sacred place.. where only praising of the propeller is allowed and nothing else.. you all need to remember that its a part of GERMAN car zone.. this aint the M5 board.. there are plenty of boards out there that concentrate on one brand... so if this bothers you feel free to make the change..
