Truthfully, doesn't look much different than the core model. Steering wheel looks cool though It seems like M cars are becoming a tad less unique these days as design hallmarks of M cars have become more simplified. No bulging wheel flares for the M6, no Satin chrome for the M5 wheels. Great cars just the same, just wish we could get a little more of that oomph design wise that they use to give their cars.

Are you serious about M cars becoming less unique? I would say just the opposite. Look at the e39 M5 vs. the e60 M5. The e60 M5 may not have satin chrome rims but neither did the e34 M5. The current M5 gets more outlandish items than ever before with M gills, those black things on the M mirrors and a more aggressive front and rear bumper. The M6 gets all that (gills aside) and an unpainted carbon fiber roof. I would say if anything, M cars are moving away from the wolf in sheep’s clothing approach.

they say 9000Rpm, so I think we can conclude it will not have the 3.2l from the current M3. Unless they have fiddled with it, which I doubt. Say hello to the V8 4l

THE OLD??!!?? Thats odd, that the new looks worse. That Z4 M version is suppposed to get the CSL engine, not just the regular E46 engine....right? They better come out with that Z4 coupe because that is so much better in terms of looks plus it has the weight and rigidity advantage...I'm waiting patiently.

Umm, Klier, not sure if you noticed or not, but that 'New' picture you posted of the rear lights is covered up with camo's aswell. It's got fake red strips over the lights, much like the 7er mules did when it was gettin the facelift.

It's kind of hard to tell what it's going to look like, ..maybe the Z4 M coupe they showed at Frankfurt might give a hint of what the facelifted rear lights will look like.

I think they're changing the rear light design also because the VW Passat has a very similar overall design, as well as the internal parts of the light.

Scott26 said M-versions of Z4 will be labeled M4 Roadster and M4 Coupe!

Quote:
With the originally planned 4er coupe now for marketing reasons being converted back to the 3er Coupe and Cabrio.

The opening for what to call the upcoming BMW M roadster and Coupe has now been decided . Now forgoing lengthy marque designation on the trunk lid - The Z4 based M Roadster and M Coupe will now be known as :

The BMW M4 Roadster and the BMW M4 Coupe.

Therefore solving a marketing dilema of using the designation 4er .
Already established because of the Z4 therefore additional problems of what to name these cars is now solved.
