Yes, the M-coupe will be faster around Nurburgring, Hockenheim, and the test tracks of Top Gear and Evo, but I don't think any of us can drive like that on everyday roads.
If you do plan to track the car regularly, I agree that you should definitely get a coupe over a convertible. For all those other times (which is >95% of the time for most of us), the M Roadster will feel just as good as the M Coupe when driving enthusiastically on everyday roads.
Styling, of course, is a whole different matter. I also agree with most of you that the M Coupe is a better looking car (slightly). But I would still want that open top experience of the M Roadster instead.
