There was always going to be an X6-M , The purpose of the X6 was to be more sporting and dynamic than the X5. Because X5 and X6 share the same architecture it is more logical and profitable to introduce the X5 and X6 in both M specification.

The X6 was always considered , The X5 is simply along for the ride.
And before the comments regarding M philosophy ( I will look for the post later) But I always maintain that when projects are done they are done to BMW's terms not to any other manufacturers.

Both the X5 and X6-M are going to be very unique in this segment .
As for a Z4 coupe , a traditional Coupe in the form of the e86 is not planned but a fixed top of the E89 is being considered and is testing , Black tape annoints the gaps you would see on the Z4 hardtop.

Next up for the Z4 will be the first BMW diesel Roadster using the engine from the 123d and when I say "first" it will be something special. Sportiness with added efficiency , This Z4 could be the best seller in the European market.
A Z4 Performance Package is also being developed for the customer who wants the extra "edge" to their Z4 either in performance or looks. A Supersports Z4 could work aswell .

Lastly not shown on the floor but @ Geneva, The BMW Z4 Individual , probably expect to see it at Frankfurt , BMW Individual will also show a 5er GT in Full Individual specification.

Thanks Scotty, that is reassuring.

If the PP range for the Z4 is good enough I think you might get the same response as for the 1-series. It is a potential image turner.

Regarding the X6, I knew the X6M as sure as anything, it is a coupe after all... and it sort of fits the image of the car.

Yes such a car is coming the Z4 has been a success and helped bring sustainability to overall Z4 sales . The marketing of the new Z4 is aimed at "Every Inch a Sports car" and a Coupe version of the new Z4 will further cement these credentials by offering a more stiffer body shell and less weight , although there are many features that make the new Z4 Roadster lighter than what you expect it to be.
So the question remains: will there be a real Z4 coupe or not?
I think we just have to wait and see...

Ja but BMW also dismissed any Coupe derivatives off the E89 platform back in the day. And then - voila. Now then, we're surely not expecting the world's foremost premium mass-maker to show their hand with every internal model strategy in one go are we? Over the internet? Via an employee who calls himself Scott? Jeez, I hope they'd be smarter than that.

I recall Scott also saying that E89 would be offered with both soft and hard top folding roofs. That didn't come to fruition but it's not like I'm going to hold him to it. I can quite easily see how the fabric hood idea was shelved at the last minute, despite being engineered into the design.
