Pin the Z4 on the road....

On Vacation now , but there is a good chance this will drop before Nov.5.

If I was to take a flyer I'd say that the sudden lack of forthcoming Z4 info and spy pics is all part of the BMW Creative Marketing strategy. [I love conspiracy theories! ]

If it were my business - I'd do the same; create a fair amount of hype around conveniently snapped FEP's dressed in nightclub toilet wallpaper, dish out some tantalising tidbits of mildly ambiguous information and then pull the plug on the stream a few weeks before launch. Let the fans stew a bit in the annn..tici......pation (forgive the cheesy 70's musical cliché) and then, wham, straight outta left field hit them with "leaked" images of the new car in all its studio-perfect glory posted by a brand new member called "Robbert_Redfid". Who, never posts again...

Ah - thanks Brookside - thought as much. Yes, the whole world is watching this, possibly the most compelling US presidential vote in my lifetime, with unprecedented interest. I'm hoping for a result that's fair and decisive and, most importantly, representative of the all the great, diverse things about the US.

But yes, how about that Z4? [Zzzzzzz]

It was bound to happen. It would have been the same with an S class vs SLK for example. The 7er is a more important car to BMW as is the S to the MB. Plus there aren't really any new information to discuss. The last 20 pages of the 7er thread were maybe 15 percent useful

I've got very high hopes for this car. I dream of driving down the road with the top down... right now I dream of an E46 M3 convertable, this car might change my dream up a bit.

I had an SAP project manager that used to lend me the keys to her Z3 3.0i - y'know: the much better put together version. I had a blast in that one.

Then I had numerous weekends with a Z4 loaner and a good mate of mine subsequently bought one. That car just blew me away with the progress it had made over the Z3 and practically every other roadster in its vicinity barring - debatably - the Boxster S which is much more expensive.

I expect this new Z4 to make the same giant strides, particularly in the areas of ride refinement and turbo'd performance. Also, I hope they go straight for the performance benchmark and fit that 245 kW N54 engine immediately as there's really no need to pussyfoot about with the detuned engine - it's not like the car encroaches on an M3 or anything.
