I thought BMW doesn´t follow the rivals and blablabla... What about that reborned Cs Concept to rival the A5 Soportback, I would be a very rubish decision, if it comes to real.

We'll have to wait until January ?!!!

sDrive = RWD with active rear electro-mechanic rear differential (Dynamic Performance Control)

Re: Next generation BMW Z4 E89 - part II (first FEP pics incl. !!!)

Like I mentioned in post #971, BMW over the last 3 months have been exhibiting signs of incoherency.
The conflicting announcements, the lack of a clear cut agenda, the lack of focus can be best summarised as lack of leadership.

I find myself of lately discounting news from BMW which is a sad mindset if you ask me- but I just find myself doing it.
And the bloke heading the NA division- I just feel he lacks proper understanding of the North American market.

I guess this means the presentation will be in a European car show. Hopefully before Geneva.

Deeeeeep problems. If they are not able to introduce something as trivial (on the broad scale) as the Z4 then they must be in for some really nasty stuff.

is it a limited slip differential? But instead of hardware, it uses electronics?
Perhaps kind of like Ferrari's differential on the F430? (but that one has a knob on the steering wheel to configure it).

What was wrong with the good old fashioned slip differential? Why is every one running away from it (bmw 335i, or porsche 996 and on where it became only optional). I'm not interested in seeing one more item "electronized". But I know, not BMW's fault by any means, all are doing it.

What the hell are you guys talking about? Everything that has been said on this thread to me, is unofficial and off the record to say the least. "News from BMW" are from 2 guys that either work at BMW or have some 2nd hand info... they aren't the ones that decide where the car will be revealed or when (no offense Scott and Eni)

I understand that everyone is impatient to see this car, but it's not like Scott or Eni has control over it... as a matter neither do any of you. There's obviously a reason why this car hasn't been unveiled yet... whether because the economy is terrible now, trademark infringements or just more publicity, BMW have their reasons. You can spend the next 20 pages complaining about it, but nothing is going to change.

On that bombshell, I'm signing myself out of this thread. I'll be back when the official E89 thread is created.

On last thign before I sign out. Mike, think of the 135i. I'm not sure what you mean by the 335i.

Unless it's an M car, it will not receive a LSD. Whether that's a good or bad thing, that can be a whole other thread on its own
