I don't think that the Z4 is going to move upmarket, expect it to even move a step down to scoop up those wanting the a roadster experience without high fuel cost, i.e Z4 with the 2.3 diesel engine. It's similar to what Audi has done by launching a 1.8L TT. Off course the new Z4 will be a few millimeters larger in size, cost one or two coins more than the current generation, but don't expect a monstrous 33% increase in price.

There's suppose to be another model that goes under the Z4. Plus the more powerful engines and hardtop roof are just another sign that it is moving up.

If this is a proper interpretation of the spyshots, then it's far more beautiful than my brain could decipher from the camo covers.
But it sure looks, well, um, big. Das boat. Seems like they're getting away from a small/light/nimble roadster and making a 2-seat 1- or 3- series.
Upmarket, upsized, upscale, upmass. That's not a roadster. That's a 2-seat convertible.
Sorry for the dissenting view.

I'm 200%+ sure that's the N54 running in that particular prototype.

Re: Next generation BMW Z4 E89 - part II (first FEP pics incl. !!!)

Hey look what I found from a discussion in 2005 (!) about how will be the z4 coupé...

Don't ou think there are many similarities with the NEW z4 2009 ???

You know what, I won't be surprised if Eni or Scott tell us that it's the closest preview among all photoshops we've seen yet, and it's from 2005 !!!

Re: Next generation BMW Z4 E89 - part II (first FEP pics incl. !!!)

I did a little modification to the original photoshop to have a more "plunging" figure like the spyshots and reajusted the "side gill" to be in the same position as the spyshots...

Ps: just a precision: I'm not a photoshopper at all !

Re: Next generation BMW Z4 E89 - part II (first FEP pics incl. !!!)

Well this picture is really inspiring me !

I've tried to give it closer proportions to the spyshots, to respect rear glasses position, and to put roof demarcation... and franckly, I love what I arrived to !!!

I really hope it will be somewhere close to this !

Tell me ! what do you think ???
