Re: Next generation BMW Z4 E89 - part II (first FEP pics incl. !!!)

Welcome the sexiest contemporary BMW ... E89 Z4.

Pure sex on wheels. You'll drop dead when seeing the first official materials.

While IRL the car is irresistible. Those snake-eyes headlights are very mean looking. Combined with sharky nose ... a very lethal combination. A predatory animal, the new Z4.

My new love ...

PS: btw, there's a reason why this car looks so sexy.

For a more intimate driving experience.
Anyways, having a hand brake allows you to modulate how much lock you want on the rear, I don't think you can really do that effectively with an electronic one. It's just much nicer to let your hand do the work instead of the electronic thingy.

Even I was bummed when the W204 debued without a hand brake.

Why would you want to lock the rear? If it's a hill, the car holds your brake automatically when you take off. Unless of course you want to do a tokyo drift kind of experience, then that might be a problem. I actually can't even tell you if the handbrakes work past a certain speed... although at about 10 mph, it was still working (don't ask me how I know)

I thought most MB's had the pedal as the handbrake?

Re: Next generation BMW Z4 E89 - part II (first FEP pics incl. !!!)

wow this car looks yummy! The interior looks totally different to any other BMW (which is a good thing!) and im loving the extended leather. I am going to miss the old fashioned hand brake lever, just feels more involving, but its not a train smash.

I remember when the E85 debuted it was also a very different looking car and looked great and I may be the only one but IMO, it didnt age very well. Hope this is different.

Yes, I'm just talking about the 'fun' aspect of having a hand brake. I can tell you I used the one in my Isuzu all the time during the Winter to get it to change directions quickly or start a drift. Yes I'm immature sometimes when I drive I know.

BTW I think hand brakes are just a mechanical link (usually cable) so they should work at any speed.

Yup, most MBs use brake pedals or E-brakes, but both SLKs do not and neither did our W201. I was just hoping that the W204 would harp back to those days.

Haha gotcha. I've pulled on my handbrake maybe once. I'm very very nice to my car. I'm not sure about these new brakes, for BMW's anyway. They are definitely not a mechanical link (as far as I know), so I wouldn't be surprised if it disables itself if you pass a certain speed

Just perfect! Very powerful.

It reminds me of a turbo engine & DCT gearbox.

I still remember the words by my birdie #2 ... he named E89 a "pussy-killer".

Better with the top up. Sexy!

Yeah. Slow motions. Focus on a predatory fascia, and powerful sides.
Hangar shots. Buzzing sounds of electricity. Flashing lights. Shaking camera focusing on a dimmed car. Engine starts. Goose bumps. Headlights light up. Corona rings. Kidney grille. BMW Badge. The engine roars. Hangar door opens. Wild animal is free. Back in its natural habitat: sunny & curvy mountain roads. Speeding up. Helicopter shots. Medusa beats in the background. Engine roars. Slow motions. The car stops on top of a cliff. The top is retracting. The interior is revealed. Stunning! The engine roars again. The wild animal is hungry for more. The run continues. This time with top down. Heading towards the seashore. Disappearing into a sunset. The new BMW Z4. The sexy predator.

^ you must have had a party or something.

I assume your birdy # 21 doesn't allow you to tell us what exactly makes the Z4 so sexy? Or are you simply teasing us?
