Not necessarily. We've seen comparison where the heavy as hell M3 convertible beat the hell out of the CLK63 convertible and RS4 cabrio. That's quite remarkable considering that the M3 unlike the CLK63 and RS4 comes with a metal folding roof.

To be honest, I am not that afraid of a possible weight gain for the new Z4. Even if it would be 100 kg heavier (heavier than previous Z4) because of the metal folding roof, it will not matter because the car will still be miles better than the current Z4.

The current Z4 wasn't even supposed to be a BMW when the platform was developed; it was supposed to be a new MG model. New Z4 will be a BMW through and through, and will be made right at home

BMW has changed the entire appearance of the with the front end no longer looking overpowering. Overall it looks chunky and very well proportioned. The bonnet shut lines look very strange though. I think I'm going to like this car a lot, all that worried me are the tail lights.

Yes, looking superb. You can tell already that it's going to be a stunner. Straight to the top of the Roadster pile come November. And if they offer that twin-turbo straight six... I hazard that we'll see one of the finest open top machines money can buy.

I love the Z4 - I have some of my greatest motoring memories from behind the wheel in a Z4 but this is going to be a level beyond.
