They havent really been too intolerant either. Dinan has been around forever! I'm sure a giant conglomerate like BMW could've had them rubbed out by now... Its almost as if they have an unspoken secret understanding.

BMW is no longer honoring Dinan tuning in the states.
It will void the original factory warranty completely from now on...

Re: Next generation BMW Z4 E89 - part II (first FEP pics incl. !!!)

Alpina are the only tuner that get to share input when a new model is being developed and are therefore able to access information from BMW.
Everyone else has to wait till launch.

Andy , Larry and Dirty Harry.

Given the very nature of BMW's dynamics it is only fair that we instigate further creativity into our launch campaigns ,be it visual effects of the digital age or indeed the latest in camera technology.
One item we have come very accustomed to is the computer controlled crane gyroscope camera that is attatched via a computer controlled crane mounted on a Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

Leaving the why use the competition? questions aside.
This latest technology is used especially in vehicle action scenes and indeed scenes from such blockbusters such as "The Dark Knight" , Transformers and its incoming sequel , Bourne films its use is in the evidence of the dynamic swooping vehicle action scenes.
The Good thing about this technology is the camera can go up ,down , across , through , over and get close to the surface of the road as possible. The end result is such dynamic swooping shots that really reflect the potential of what car is being filmed.
As the Z4 is a Roadster we can get shots from above , showing the driver shift stick and pedal pump and take corners with such magnetic precision.
All this is down to the car of course and the camera helps enhance that evidence.

How everything works Ep. 1

What we are here doing is the hardest part of shooting because all we are getting is elements. Everything comes together but not at the moment.
We can basically have four cameras on the car at any given time so we have four different types of footage to use. Everything is not as you see on the media film. You do get helicopter engines drowning out your engine and incase of Sydney noisy sea birds spoiled the ambience this also meant the car had to cleaned up more than once.

Did we or didnt we?

One of the crew thinks we may have been snooped yesterday , although the car was not in production mode (It was covered with a foil car cover)
Someone says that there was a case of hyper activity when the BMW badge on the car cover gave the game away that BMW are in town.
Have not had a proper look yet but nothing here so far.

Ever since early-mid 2008.
They are dropping the factory warranty because Dinan offers a complete upgrade kit for the car with Dinan's own warranty. However, it makes sense in the case of BMW offering performance upgrades with factory warranty.

If only we can only be so fortunate.

Same here...'bout time another photo surfaced.
In the meantime, another photo of the (folding) roofline...it's a fairly recent one from the end of July that I meant to post earlier.

Again, it's one of the familiar prototypes with Munich plates still running the autobahns.
High quality camera...almost professional spy-shot...like, "let's grab the Canon and maybe a BMW skunkworks prototype will pass us by", kinda thang.

Good catch^^ The roof looks a lot rounder in that pic. The camou over the rear gas tank is very deceiving. I keep visualizing this car drawing a striking resemblance to the Mercedes SL. Do you think its going to be about the same size?

Yes to the Ferrari California...what a beautiful automobile!
Here's another of a skunk prototype mule (M-GZ 4581)....same car as above & recently posted on the Netherlands AutoWeek site.
I wish someone would get a shot of Scott's cars.
