Agree that the car is really shaping up to be something special. Regarding the engine, the tt in-line six is sweet if you haven't experienced it. I have a 335i 6 mt coupe and it goes pretty good!

This is a cool car! Very very cool.

Can't wait for official pics and specs... I'd have one - given the money of course.

They should have made the whole boot a receiver for the radio and GPS, like they have done on the 6er. The 6er does not even have a sharkfin antenna. The boot is one big antenna

Is it just me or is there a clear hint of Hussein in that design?

@ Rurella

I own a 535dt, and I haved driven all the 335is, M3s, Alpinas, AMGs, Z4M, and YES - you are right - the 335i goes "pretty good" but it is not blowing my skirt up!

I've read that the 335i coupe is insane! but if you're not impressed, you'll have to try it in a lighter body, in the E89 Z4

I am so disgusted that the california is sold for the next couple of years merely because of its badge. I so wish BMW made something to compete with the California. I hope the forthcoming (possible) ///M version features the same tuned N64 as will be found on the forthcoming X5/X6 M derivatives.

Re: Next generation BMW Z4 E89 - part II (first FEP pics incl. !!!)

sorry to disappoint you guys - Im not a lady ,-)
But in my family I am the rational part as my wife is opting for 911 Turbo, DBS or the F California.

The California is is indeed an absolutly awsome car! If BMW could build something like that for 1/2 price - they would have a new cash-cow next to the 3series ,-)

anyway..the 335i is not "insame"... Porsches from the company 9ff might be...

Enough to get the pulse going for this middle-aged "kid", no skirt action however. BTW, I have also driven all the cars you referenced as well as the P cars. The TT in-line 6 is one of my favorite engines despite fewer HP's then some would prefer. Certainly not scary fast, but very good power across-the-band, terrific tone and the best in-class performance out there IMHO.
