So even if everything has been postponed, that means 1, 2 or even 3 weeks late on the schedule not 2 MONTHS until Detroit !

This is beyond me...

And indeed porsche photos are very good. They really create a good interest for the cars... especially with the nice facelift... beautiful led lights... Great new engine... no competitors...
Yep, everyone says its deleyad for 2 or 3 weeks, but thats two months and thats unacceptable for me . Im not prepared to wait for a car for which I don't even know it will be released in near future. Now its time to visit Porsche dealer (new base Boxster looks great), Audi (A5, TT S) , Nissan (370Z) and unfortunately BMW dealer for E92 . Im sure Im not the only one with that opinion...

And BTW: If everyone in BMW talks about efficient dynamics, why they put N52 engine into Z4 and not N53 which is newer and got better fuel economy ?

Nobody ever said that the Z4 will be on sale before march or april 2009. So how does it affect your decision if the pics are posted one month earlier or not? Even if the pics would be online since three months, you still couldn't buy the car... So I don't see your point. But anyhow, you have to live with your decision ;-) But don't be sad if you buy a new 370Z now and the new Z4 you will see in some weeks looks way bether ;-)
Don't get me wrong, I am waiting just as much as you are, but I don't think the release-date of the pictures changes anything... Maybe the car will be on sale in may instead of april, but who cares for this one month? I would be happy waiting another month instead of driving something I didn't really wanted to have and just bought it because the car I really wanted was not on the market ;-)

That's cause Porsche has been selling cr*p cars using its image. Cayenne? give me a break. The Cayenne saved Porsche from bankrupt but it doesn't stop it from being the ugliest and most show-off car to grace the earth's roads.

that's the reason why Porsche isn't affected. Because the hard work of Porsche engineers from the 40's to the 90's has built such a strong image that they can afford to sell rebadged VW's today off that image, until it wears off in the next decade and they will come back to earth.

In the mean time, a BMW can do the same as what a Porsche can on the track, but without having the same badge on your key holder as the latest chav star's wife.

Now I still love Porsches, don't get me wrong but I hate that they are designing the panamera and the roxster (little suv).

all in all, they did manage to launch two websites 4 month before selling the cars
so at least marketing-wise they know what they are doing

PS: don't get me wrong, I really want the new Z4 to kick the new boxster in the nuts :p

Everybody's having problems. Including Porsche. They will also stop production in the end of the year. As many others.

Not to mention what follows in 2009 ... a disaster.

Porsche is only doing well because they outplayed the hedge founds with VW share trick - earning billions of Euros some weeks ago. What about next year? Expect Porsche in the same troubles as any other carmaker.

^ Precisely. No car maker will come out of this crisis unscathed.

E89 Z4 sales are more than 4 months away!

So, still plenty of time for a press release, don't you think
