That was quick. Engine upgrade in just year and half. Why so?

Wow....careful though they don't want to render the X6 M pointless. Jaguar as done a similar thing....base XF and now a superchaged one with 470hp to fit in between the XF 5.0 (385hp) and the XFR (510hp).

The real Ms still have 100+HP on it and probably other goodies like the twin spool turbos that provide better response.

What will be stunning will be this engine in the new 5. It is probably going to have the real world performance of the current M5.

Uhm, there still is a gap of over 100 hp. That's a lot and doesn't render the X6 M pointless by any means whatsoever. Comparing BMW with Jaguar...lol

Anyways....450 hp is totally awesome for the 50i! Great engine upgrades. This probably means the new F10 550i will launch with 450 hp as well. Madness I tell you
Now it all makes sense why there always is an M5 driving behind the F10 prototypes...A standard 550i will be just as fast.

Edit;
so I guess those rumors for 476 hp 500 engine from Mercedes are true too....The difference between this new BMW engine and the current 500 engine from MB is simply huge. Way too big. MB won't let that be.

^ I didn't say that it rendered the M version pointless, I said to be careful that they didn't. The M versions have 555hp, these have 449....for some there will be no point of buying the M. You can't really use either hp figure on the road much anyway.

That's key. You can easily bump up the power of a Turbo charged engine but it's all at a cost. Though I cannot comment further since I don't know if BMW have upgraded parts inside the engine or merely fiddled with the ECU.

Human will become famous soon enough
Though lacking a supercar e.g. R8 and SLR....BMW does make up with it's engine lineup and offerings + upgrades! And all of that in my favourite series zeeee X6

Oh, here it is ... I was told to be on stand by since X6 M-performance pack is coming ...

But I never thought they would have included the news in such general press release.

Whatever.

So, beside power upgrade in the Power-pack, there are some other exterior & interior features specific to this package:

... dark sporty interior, and contrasting exterior styling features ...

eg. Alpine White or Titanium Silver comes with 20" black alu wheels, Shadowline trim, black exhaust pipes, black side-mirror caps, darkened Individual windows etc

Black Alcantara Sport seats, Individual anthracite roofliner, interior trim in darkened Aluminium Flywheel style.

....

But more interesting is the posted German price for the X6 Active Hybrid: €102,900

Compared to X6M: €108,500
and X6 xDrive50i: €76,100
