EDIT: Feel sorry for the Americans. That's some serious price hikes across the range. I guess BMW are compensating for the depreciating value of the dollar. $1 200 increase on the 335i coupe is a lot of money. Suddenly a Hyundai Genesis doesn't look like a bad deal.
Says the guy from London/Gotheburg... you guys in the EU pay almost twice as much for a car.

Which is why I've said it since the beginning when the economy started going south... it's still not THAT bad

We actually don't pay twice as much. Like I've said before it's just an illusion of the weakened dollar. Talk to the people in Zimbabwe, the currency has inflated and everything there costs a fortune. Looking at our prices they might say that "Wow things in europe are so much cheaper, I'm jealous?" But is that the case? No it's not. A depreciating value of a currency has no affect what so ever on the cost of living in another country. Besides a notch higher taxes living and working in London is no more expensive than living and working in LA or NY.

The dollar losing 40% of it's value in 7 years has close to zero effect on cost of living in the domestic country and the foreign ones. I bet that no body in the US says that cars are 40% cheaper today then they were 7 years ago.

In terms of street value $1 200 has the same purchasing power as €1 200 has in Germany.

Knew this was bound to happen the way things have been going.

I actually expected the manufacturers to hold out a bit more, but I yes BMW is first to reach the stage of impatience. this will certainly prompt other manufacturers to jack up their prices as well.

That's very cheap compared to here in the UAE, I think the V6 BMW X6 is around 100000$ last time I checked.
