Performance or X6 M?

I have no idea EMpower ... I ll leave it for the pros ... I guess earlier Eni & Scott mentioned an M X6 but apparently there will be non according to another insider in the forum ... and to complicate things further, they say it will have the same 4.4 TT found in the xDrive50i ... I dunno what they'll do to it.

that hood screams performance

Nope, the hood screams hybrid.

Hard to say.
It's either genuine M prototype, or at least 50i with M-package.



What screams M:

• no regular fog lights - btw, check the new LED fog lights on the front bumper spoiler wings instead;
• covered area just beside front wheel arch where M-gill could be placed

What screams M-package 50i:

• V8 TT - like exhaust pipes
• front intake hides turbo-coolers, if I see it right
• regular non-M wheels
• regular non-M treatment around grille & headlights (bumper line staying horizontal, not curving up towards outer headlight edges like in other true M-models)
• no rear spoiler

According to my sources M GmbH is occupied with developing a new engine, M xDrive, and Gran Tourismo (new 8er) project - which will be done with a lot of help of M engineers, and Individual material designers & craftsmen.
X6 weight is a huge problem. Not allowing M driving dynamics. They are trying to find proper solutions but the R&D budget is running out. The project could be axed - and rather coming out with an m version of more sporty - and of course lighter - upcoming X4.

^ I don't know what sort of car that X6 is in the first post, but I do think that it's far into development and will not be axed....

I think it'll be some sort of iS project, like the E53 X5 4.6iS. I mean, the front bumper looks a lot (exactly?) like the one on the X5 spy pics, and I'm pretty sure we will never see an X5 M

Never seemed M-gill on non-M cars.

MB has AMG ML63 then why can't BMW M-division make a competitor?

I have probably repeated this ad nauseam (but for whatever reason, I seem to get a kick out saying it) - an AMG doesn't necessarily have to handle well, an M has to.

But having said that, looks like the X6 does handle fantastic, better than many 'sports cars' from competitors, so probably we will see an M version.
