Oh, and Martin, yes i do miss some quality from there - some old members that left and never camed back/register here, but at the same time i find these forums 10 times better than the ones on GCF! At GCF i felt like i was in school; write like this, speak like that, etc...

There's more freedom here and the owner is not playing teacher...

Of course. And not just Q5's. Compact SUVs which are coming to the markets right now, or are just about to come, have very dynamic shape - not boxy like X3. A trend have changed in a last few years. Compact SUVs look much more crossover-ish, (in shape) than mini-SUV-ish.

Eg. Mk2 X3 will come to the markets just approx. 1.5 year after Q5, and will follow current trends of more dynamic shape.

While MB are doing just the opposite: making a 2008 GLK very boxy.
Will that hurt them, or will they take advantage out of this.

Why make X6 4seater? If X6 got 3seats in the back i would get this car in a second.

Eni. Will the X6 be like an other SUV or will it be an ultra luxurious cross over like the Mercedes GST concept?

Coupe shaped rear = Not enough head room for a third row.

Re: BMW X6 (X Sport) crossover vehicle

let me venture an answer
X6 will have 4 seats only, and will share the general look of an SUV, raised ride etc... but will have a slanting coupeish rear.
it's prime attributes will be on lifestyle and dynamics, rather than object and people mover as a standard SUV

If on the R had stayed true to this design it would have been a hit.

Re: BMW X6 (X Sport) crossover vehicle

X6 will be a SAC (Sports Activty Coupe). Look eg. Hyundai Talus, VW concept A, Infiniti FX Concept for an idea. Use Google picture search.

Re: BMW X6 (X Sport) crossover vehicle

I think in the end X6 will come up as 5 seater.There is a much bigger market for the cars w.3back seats.By the way E70 drives great even without s/p. I drove X5 back to back with ML63 and I like it better exept for the cheap black plastic on the front and rear bumpers of X5. Quality of the materials, fit and finish are also better on ML.
