WorldCarFans is going down the drain, fast.

They are just another car website now, and a mediocre one at that.

So sad, GermanCarFans was awesome.

I fully agree with you. Several of the scoops that made WorldCarFans a hit came from people posting in their forums. Once they did away with them, they went downhill rather quickly IMO. Quite a strategic blunder if you think about it.

Sad new man, very sad.. I was just thinking about GermanCarFans yesterday
and the fun we had there, so many members got lost in that Titanic ship. We might never see them again.

Anyway I don`t agree with those latest ps jobs.. too much mini-van going on there.

Yeah, the times back at GCF were great and luckily it's not because of us that it becamed c**p and that forums were closed. Someone acted like philosopher and that's why it's like that now.

The biggest GCF problem right now is that they are just one of the many automotive blogs. Or even only one of the many German car blogs (et. GermanCarScene). Reposting press releases is not an effort.

And the biggest sin: Lehmann! They are good at taking spy pics, but the acompanied text is many times way off (false info!). Also impressions made by Lehmann are from the category "W.T.F.?!"

Regarding the info (especially about BMW) GCZ still rocks.

And it will be.

OK, not like that - but definitely more rounded & dynamic than the current "boxy" X3. With more sloppy tail gate, lower greenhouse, more aggressive & sporty appearence. Yet still being quite utilitarian (for those who wil want more individual & lifestyle vehice will get F3 & possibly an X4). Sheet metal styling will be an evolution. Something like E65 vs F01, or E60 vs F10. When you'll see the cars you'll know what am I talking about: a strong evolution. Very new (much more sporty, yet with some known cuurent design cues). Eg. look at Huckfeldt's "X6" impression (the baby blue one) to get an idea of Mk2 X3.

Btw, expect X4 (if getting a green light) to be another SAC - this time smaller & with a great possibility to get 2 dorrs only (instead of 4 like X6).

That discription fits the Q5's appearance also.

I think some of our members are being too critical of WCF without paying due consideration to the fact that it's a business and not a chat room. I'm almost positive that the decision to drop the forum was an agonising one for the owners.

Things changed:
If you're going to crit WCF for going over-commercialised then you're not giving due recognition to the fact that, as a global automotive news repository, WCF is unsurpassed.

Oh and what about our little community? I think we're a great forum but the quality of posts (particularly referring to opinion and debate) isn't a patch on what it used to be in GCF.

Ok... I'm seriously OT here and someone is welcome to create a thread to discuss this matter. Mods, care to intervene?
