In the production timetable we received a few months ago, the 35i production was being started in mid-December '07 whilst 35d production was starting in early January '08. X50i production is not due to start until May '08, so I expect you will not see many X50i models driving around until nearer that time.

DoctorD, I appreciate the info.Like most Americans,I'm not thinking diesel when I talk about engines. Shame on me.Hopefully,that will change over time here in the states.The full production X6's I've seen around town are the 35i's.That's what all the side badges have shown.None of the badged cars I've seen have had the little "d" indicating diesel.The unbadged testers would be hard to tell apart,save the grill.I'll keep an eye out for the titanium grill.I've got some good contacts at the plant and I'll ask where they actually are on the production timeline regarding the different models.Thanks! Palbay, X6 specialist, if it is possibly, it would be heplful for me to know when actually 50i models will start to be produced, as well as to know when first 50i models will be shipped to Europe. As I decide firstly between 35i and 35d, I look more forward to ordering a 35d. But as I want to have X6 this year, it is important for me to know if also 50i is available in 2008. My dealer was unable to find it out, so some background information directly from US would be helpful

The original schedule was for the X50i to begin production for European deliveries in Oct '08, therefore a late November or early December delivery. Whether this is still the schedule given the delays in the US I don't know.

I imagine X6 50i will be released as 2009 model, at least in US as models after September/October will be 2009.

I am more interested in X6 ///M and its release. Any info you can provide?

Per Today's press release:

The world's first Sports Activity Coupe, combining the sporting elegance of a large BMW Coupe with the powerful presence of a BMW X model. With two variants, both with Twin Turbo and direct injection, the X6 xDrive35i (3.0 inline six-cylinder engine, 300 hp, 300 lb.-ft torque) will be available in May and the X6 xDrive50i (4.4 V8 engine, 400 hp, 450lb.-ft torque) this summer.

Caught this Black 50i X6 at the International Center for Automotive Research (ICAR) here in town.BMW has a Research Facility in this Business Park.My guess is that this X6 was part of the X6 Press Launch.It was open so I grabbed some pic's.BMW pushes the Vermilion Red 50i X6 in all it's marketing material.It's nice to see the TTV8 X6 in something other than Vermilion Red.This car had the leather dash. Very nice! I'm going to post some closeups of the leather.Thanks! PalBay

Maybe the wheels???? I really don't like many of the wheel choices for the X6......For this to be the top end model,IMO,the wheels just look dull

The X6 is such a large vehicle.....even the 20' rims just don't fit the wheel wells.Thanks! PalBay

Alu running boards and just 1" bigger wheels and voila!

I don't mind these wheels that much.

DEFINETELY bigger wheels, it will make it look meaner, and just like the concept.
