I am sorry guys but the X6 is a disaster in my eyes. I don't know what to call that "thing." It looks like it has been rear ended already by a Mack truck. And I don't want to be the one trying to get in or out of that back door, I can imagine the headroom back there. Looks like they took a little 5er, coupled it with a little X5, and then ran out of ideas. It's not a cross over but a cross out...
This "thing" will bomb...hardly an Ultimate Driving Machine... | | | | | Sponsored Links | | | GCZ's High Court

To each his own, Mr. Jack! While you think it's a disaster, i think it's an amazing machine with great potential. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Tycoon For This Useful Post: | | | Fanatic

If you want a SUV buy one, if you want a sedan buy one, if you want a convertible buy one, if you want a sport coupe buy one. These cross overs and whatever BMW will decide to call this combination of designs is just not a good looking vehicles in my eyes. They all have a frog rear end look to them which I cannot stand.
I came close in my recent search to getting a BMW 3er convertible or the 6 er convertible...nice style and a real driving machine. But in the end I decided to give the GL550 a try since I had never owned an SUV. But I was not interested in a composite of body styles. That is why I think the X6 is not destined for greatness. You know why i like that rear that you dislike that much? Because there isn't anything similar to that, it's something completely new (i'm talking only about BMW) and due to car's coupe-ish lines it's normal that it slopes like that. Maybe that ruins the whole car for you, but for me it's the nicest part of the car together with aggressive headlights.
You see, i'm a buyer of this car and it doesn't create confusion at all, nor it looks weird to me. To me it looks better than any X5, X3, ML, GL, Q7 or Cayenne and i honestly don't give a damn for the lack of space in the back seats 'cause for sure i'll never drive Shaq or some Manute Bol in my car.
It has everything afaic and after X5 it's gonna be my next car. | | | | | Enthusiast

I would be lying to say I dont like it, but I do think it is a really stupid car. Yes I know that makes me sound stupid, but really, why bother with this? I think if BMW made a CAR (normal sedan or whatever) with a similar side profile, it would look fantastic.
Still like it though... | | | | | GCZ's High Court

Cross shopping between a 3er/6er convertible & the new GL is really something interesting. Well, for such kind of confused customers the new X6 is targeted
For me, I like this car to death. And if I can I afford it I would buy it. | | | | | Contributor

Oh my ...
Some people who buy a premium performance SAV / SUV do not buy it due its spaciousness but due its presence (large dimensions - incl. height), superb performance characteristics, and especially commanding sitting position (otherwise they would go for a classic coupe).
So, such customers are targeted: the ones who want a performance vehicle, commanding / high sitting position, a car that stands out with its presence, and the space is not an issue. This kind of customers usually go for RR Sport, top-end ML, top-end Q7, FX45, Porsche Cayenne, Hummer, even top-end X5, etc.
They will even get some extras with X6: even better driving dynamics than SAVs, and appealing sports coupe-like design - which fit better car's performance characteristics.
Many market & trend researches have been done, and all confirmed there is a market niche for such a car. But this can work only in premium segments, so I doubt Ssangyong et al can succeed with such a vehicle. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to EnI For This Useful Post: | | | Fanatic

The rear end still looks like all the other crossovers to me... | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
