I think the continous glass impression without the B pillar makes a difference in looks. Given the higher stance and the aggresive rear, the one glass look adds a lot to the concept X6's ability to stand out. Secondly, it is unique, something I haven't seen in any concept (SUV/SAV or whatever you call it) before. If you put in the B pillar, and erase the back, the X6 will look ordinary from the side.
However on the flip side of this argument, looks are not made of individual parts, its really the whole which defines a vehicle's aesthetics. Just have to wait and see how the B pillar included X6 looks. The rendition next to the clay model is not clear enough to form an opinion.
Agreed that an X6 is far better looking than the current crop and will leave the competition in the dust in any case.

Other factors (although also matter of personal taste) that can make or break the look of this (and any other car) are the wheel/color choice. You can easily create an X5 that would be boring (for me) as you can create X5 that is stunning.
So maybe an X5 with M-Package and style 128 wheels might look nicer than an X6 in standard version
But a fully equipped X6 will certainly leave the competion (incl X5) in the dust.. |
