![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | AutoBild: Future BMW X models. ![]() Starting with the X3 restyling, expected in a very short while, while the entirely new model will be coming only in 2010, it will be a bit bigger and will finally get "premium" class finishings. The X5/E70 will debuting in Paris this autumn and it will be available at the begininning of 2007. The new version of BMW's first SUV must live up to the high expectations created by its predecessor and by the evolution of the market. There will be no aesthetic experimentation, either on the inside or the outside. The new X5 will be produced in Spartanburg (NC, USA) and its main focus will be on the american market, and it will have 7 seats like its main rivals, the Audi Q7 and the Mercedes GL. The new X5 will also get a new xDrive system that will be capable of a more flexible torque split between the front and rear axle and the left and right wheels. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER via - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER |

BMW have 2 design proposals for X6: one very close to this Huckfeldt's impression (more SUVish), and another one (more Coupe-ish). The BMW board of management have chosen the more Coupe-ish variant. So this X6 by Huckfeldt is not the chosen one. The chosen one is more similar to the red CGI from Auto-motor-und-sport. X3 is spot on. X5 - front is spot on, but side & rear more chunky - not so rounded like Huckfeldt has portraited it. Rear & side are more like the AZ CGI: - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER Last edited by EnI; 05-11-2006 at 07:20 PM. |

So, no need to panic. The overall stance of the car will resemble (and even enhance) the shape of the current X5: very powerful, very bullish. In a very fresh and appealing skin. When E70 X5 arrives Audi Q7 will look like soccer mum's fancy grocery SUV. While X5 will be daddy's new toy. ![]() Last edited by EnI; 03-07-2006 at 06:53 PM.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: AutoBild: Future BMW X models. Thanks for the post Yannis...and thanks for the update Enilab. As for all those PS' ... i gotta say the Le Mans Blue X5 PS is just awesome. The front is a little bit off with the big kidney grille...but other than that, the front is awesome. The same can be said for the rear...although I really wouldn't mind if the rear was like the red PS at the top of the page. As for the X3 facelift. I don't really mind the current X3...but that facelift PS is real nice. Aggressive, but not over the top..and not too much plastic upfront. Now to that light blue PS there. Im guessing that's supposed to be the X6 ? .. well... i'm not a fan for the upside-down kidney's ...but the overall stance of the car/suv is pretty nice...and the 3er inspired rear design is something I can't complain about. I sure hope the new X5 can live up to the success of the current X5...and i'm guessing it'll have no problem with that. |

... but I already think the Q7 is a soccer mum's car. Heck, when I saw it at the Motorshow, a lady and her kids were checking it out, while her husband walked over to the S4.To me the Q7 is too feminine ...the GL-class is too conservative and unimaginative coz it's just a bigger ML..... while the current X5 is damn aggressive and as Enilab said 'bullish'..and from those PS's, looks like it's only going to get better. ![]()
