And if the X5 M is an example of what we can expect from Herr Dr. Segler and his cohorts, we can't wait to see the 2011 BMW M5 with the same twin-turbo V8. It's bound to be at least 1,000 pounds lighter, is said to be making close to 600 hp (possibly the result of a Formula One-derived KERS system and driven through a new eight-speed double-clutch automated manual transmission.
Now your talking! That would make bring the next M5 into 'supercar' terrirtory and a good alternative to the Panamera....I am stepping on toes here aren't I....? :-)

Not at all. The new M5 will be a better car than the Panamera Turbo anyways. Better, cheaper, lighter and faster.

Also, I absolutely love the rims of the X5 M. Stunning design

The facelifted Panamera Turbo will be faster than the new M5 Both are to be introduced not to distant from one another. That is if the M5 is to follow the standard pattern of being released 18-24 months after the standard 5-Series outfit. Nontheless the M5 will be a good value for money.

This time it will be less than 18 months.

We'll see. Panamera is 7er size and weight, so it would be remarkable.

Don't get me wrong I loooove the Panamera, that said - the M5 would have better power-to-weight ratio and maybe a better handler IMO, not to mention better value for money...would be an interesting battle...guess it's all about patience....I HATE WAITING!

Let's keep it on topic - this thread has nothing to do with the M5.

Thank you for being positive about the X5 M! Seems like the traditional M fans act like BMW //M committed a crime or something by creating the X5 and X6 M. I think they both great as well.
