 | Good. I think I know everything now! N54 = twin turbo, no scroll turbo N55 = single turbo, twin scroll N64 = twin turbo, twin scroll S64 = twin turbo, twin scroll  N74....let me guess.....V12??? Twin turbo, twin scroll?

So, your list should be: N54 = 3.0L I6 twin turbo, no twin scroll N55 = 3.0L I6 single turbo, with twin scroll, VALVETRONIC N64 = 4.4L V8 twin turbo, no twin scroll S63 = 4.4L V8 twin turbo, with twin scroll N74 = 6.0L V12 twin turbo, no twin scroll All engines feature HPI direct injection though. While all diesel engines feature single turbo with variable turbine geometry - except for M57 3.0L I6 (35d) & N47 2.0L I4 (23d) with Variable (sequential) Twin Turbos. And there is also Prince petrol engine from MINI 1.6L I4 single turbo, with twin scroll. So, quite some recent turbo opus from BMW. | |
