I just can't see how this is a bad looking car? Just because it isn't as blingy and showy as the ML 63 AMG makes it a bad looking car? I for one detest the look of the Mercedes with its abundance of chrome and overll odd proportions. Doesn't mean it's a bad looking but also don't think adding massive rims and chrome makes a good ooking car. THe X5-M looks sporty and elegant, the perfect combination for my likings...

ML63 was a very good looking vehicle before the face lift, after the face lift it suffers from down's syndrome.

The firsts for BMW M concerning these two vehicles aren't very flattering:

* The first M-vehicles that are only available with automatic transmission
* The first M-vehicles that weigh over 2005 kg (~2300 kg)
* The first M-vehicles that aren't NA (naturally aspirated)
* The first M-vehicles that are AWD

^^^ Yeah, and that is all pretty damn logical if you realise this new M car is a SUV
The next M5 probably won't have an auto tranny. It won't be as heavy. It won't have AWD...it will only have the same turbo V8, and that's fine with me

The X5 looks really good, I think it has to do with the return of the magnificent Estoril Blue. Would like to see that colour on an X6.

The red X6 and the blue X5 really compliment each other well. Those are the BMW M colors!

Well, if it ain't estoril, then it's really damn close. That is my favorite color and too bad it's on the wrong damn car.

Can't we just evaluate the vehicle as hardcore SUV and forget all that M BS ? when I am buying this I won't buy it just because of the M heritage, ok that might give me expectations but the true factor is the driving experience and nothing else !

The photoshoot was done in the US. Remember seeing the spyshots of the X5-M in the US?
