Mind Mr. Biermann is a long-time M GmbH engineer: he was a suspension engineer at M GmbH (1986-93), Head of Suspension, Electronics, Drivetrain & Cooling M GmbH (1998-2000), Head of development M3 GTR (2001-02).
In the years 2004-07 he was a development chief of E70 X5 project, and in 2008 he returned to M GmbH - this time as Chief of development.
But it is an interesting fact Mr. Biermann - a talanted M engineer - was named E70 head of development.
Why would BMW sent an M specialist to develop an SAV.

And then when this SAV is developed, named the same guy Chief of development M GmbH.
The fact is X6 & X5 Performance versions are being developed completely by M GmbH. The question remains whether the cars would wear M badge. There is a great possibility to get it: as sad, BMW AG registered X5 M, and X6 M trademarks 2 months ago.
