Don't know what world you live in mate, but these daysconsumers aren't too concerned about which vehicle is more efficient in transfering power to the wheels, or anything along those lines... it's become all about gas mileage, and that's exactly what Efficient Dynamics has already achieved. What BMW have currently achieved in terms of Efficient Dynamics is only the start from the looks of things. BMW calls it a philosphy, but you can call it marketing crap as you do...so each to his own I guess...but you can't sit there and downplay the efficiency that stop-n-go and brake regeneration provide a car. But then again, the Prius has similar technology to boost efficiency, but you downplay that vehicle's efficiency as mere marketing gibberish.

i like the car too and i'm not as naive to think that 0 emission is ever possible, but it least you should take care what you transport

Comparison should be like this.
X5 4.8i = X6 xDrive50i
X5 iS = X6 ///M

So top of line X5 will still be having less power than top of the line X6.

X5 will eventually get the same engines as X6, the V8 turbo. The new bmw 750i is getting the V8 Turbo as well. So logical thinking same thing will happen to the X5.
If there ever will be a M version of X-serie, then X6 is the M model, not the X5.

Agree, but E53 X5 4.4 had N62B44 and X5 4.8is N62B48.
So they can have same engine with different settings for X6 and X5 and the more powerful engine goes to X6.
