Yeah Klier, the 7 series was beginning to get old, one xenon light becoming yellowish, sun curtains in the back starting to give away, cd player not reading well anymore etc. etc. I even gave it a brand new paint job 3 years ago, bumber to bumper. The dealer told me I was nuts, but he, the 12 year old 7 series was a trusty old friend in a way and the design is just awesome still to this day. Well, I guess in the end my buddy crashed in the field. I felt like Han Solo with the Falcon ditched nosehead into the dunes of Tatooine after evading 6 Tie Fighters and having shot down another 3 with Chewie banging on the controls to make things work. So I thought, ok then, lets get the best BMW has to offer right now. Went for the twin turbo diesel full option. I wanted to get the best BMW diesel available, lots of cargo space for smuggling blaster rifles and with all the gadgets you can get. and big rims!!!

Maybe go to the local car tune up shop and get some sewer pipe add-ons!!! Don´t temp me, I have 30 year old Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 2+2 in the garage with dingling dices hanging of the rear view mirror!!!

Pardon my ignorance... But why does BMW have an Aero kit as well as an M ki for the X5? I don't see this in other of its cars.

They have it for other cars as well... for example 3er coupe:

Oh I see... But why is there an Aero Kit as well as an M kit? For Audi and MB is simpler, S-Line and AMG respectively.

M-package has the sportsuspension and I think Aero package is without it.

Yeah, I think Aero package is optical only (and mostly not even that pretty). With the M package, you get some technical improvements too.

It's hardly simpler for MB and Audi; they have simply copied the BMW way over the years. BMW just has an extra package too. Not that confusing I'd say.

No sport suspension with Aero Package, it only comes with M package.
