X5 bumper

But as I said: some details are still quite off ... But the general idea is in the right direction. Btw, Schulte's CGI of X3 is still too much based on X1 ... since actually that CGI is an X1 chop.

How can the latest CGI be close to the X3? It looks just like the X1.

New BMW X3 mule with interior shot

These latest spy pictures give a glimpse of the upcoming BMW X3's interior. Not a lot is visible, but some of the dials and the start/ stop button can be seen. Unfortunately the exterior is still camo-flooded but a clear evolution over the current model is envisaged. The round rear lights can't be taken seriously as they are red herrings meant to throw us off track.

BMW launched the X3 in 2003 and a minor facelift was applied in 2006. Next year we'll see the new car running around. No longer the smallest SUV in its stable - the X1 takes that slot - X3 now becomes even more important as people begin to downsize from X5-types into something less cumbersome.

Speculated engines include the new 3.0-litre single turbo unit making 225kW (306hp) as well as its turbo diesel mirror. Smaller plants will also be included.

Not sure if these have been posted, but I thought I'd include them here so that we can get some sense of the size of the new X3 compared to the current X3.

I think these might be old X1 spy pics ?!

Nah - it's X3. Just the angle and zoom of the photos does nothing to give a sense of proportion or comparative sizing.

BMW Delays U.S. Launch Of Redesigned X3 SUV

Quote:
The current BMW X3 may have to soldier on until the middle of 2011 in the U.S. as the redesigned version of the mid-size SUV is being delayed. The new model is expected to go on sale in Europe towards the end of 2010, but in the U.S. BMW is pushing back its arrival by as much as six months because the company wants to launch a new ordering system that allows customers to pick and match their vehicle to their exact specifications.

The information comes from BMW’s U.S. chief, Jim O'Donnell, who explained that the move will allow the company to offer up to four engine variants at launch, making lower-priced versions available from the outset.

Traditionally, BMW would launch the most expensive variants first, in this case the six-cylinder models, but with the luxury market still hurting the company doesn’t want to risk losing any sales. O'Donnell went on to reveal that the complete engine lineup could include four-cylinder units, both gasoline and diesel, but a final decision won’t be made until the end of this year. Unlike the current generation, which is built in Europe, the redesigned X3 will be built at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. If the new ordering system proves successful with the X3, BMW will then trial it with the larger X5 and X6 models that are also produced in Spartanburg.
