IMO none of the X Series BMWs suits the Alpina philosophy. Maybe X6 a little. I'd rather see 1-series Coupe and Cabrio from Alpina rather than the X1.

Alpina is not a Brabus which builds its own interpretations of each MB model starting from A Class ending with Unimog. It's enough when Alpina focuses on 3, 5, 6, 7 and Z Series Bimmers

That still doesn't mean they manufacture anything. If I bought my HP laptop from Department Store, does that mean they made it? No. It just means they sold it. In Alpina's case, it would be as if the Department Store sold extra bits with the Laptop and not how it came from the factory.

I understand what you people are saying, but you guys are missing the point about customer demands. If there is a HUGE shift in Alpina's customers don't you think they'll change? For F__ks sake, even BMW has changed drastically over the years and you're telling me a small company won't and can't change.

We are aware that the manufacturer title is more symbolic than anything else but you have to understand that much of Alpina's prestige relies on that title, and if BMW let them have that, it's because of their special relationships which implies among other things that ALPINA will always listen when BMW speaks.

The 1-series coupe and cabrio would be perfect Alpina cars, BMW could even stow away the M version of the little thing at Alpina. I'm thinking of all the great E30 Alpinas.

Alpina seem to be stuck on an Island where time is not changing
They're styling just seems a tad too classical and IMO doesn't blend too well with some of the contemporary styled cars.

Just the thought of an Alpina X1 is rather disturbing. Its also strange that Alpina products are supposed to appeal to the premium segment and they never made an Alpina X3,X5 or X6, yet they want to make a X1?

So one one-way ticket for that island for me please I am fed up with all those ecology and counting every single gram of CO2 as if nothing else on this world, except cars, produced this gas

I like Alpina styling, maybe a little conservative but timeless, IMO. The new B7 looks simply great in Alpina trim. I suppose their next creations will also be a perfect blend of taste, power and luxury
