Looks like more like an X5 . Sorry to say but having been involved in the promotion of this car this leak is Definetely not from BMW.

Check side profile against FEP X1 and you can see a more rounded rear and more pronounced front , compare then to the X5 and you will see an exact comparison.

Re: BMW X1: CGIs, spy pics & info

You know, I was just building my own '09 335i sedan on BMWUSA.com and it came out to about $47k. Might as well be $50k when you consider CA tax + license, and I remember a time not so long ago that's what you paid for a loaded E39 530i. The car is simply too expensive for it's size and class, and it's a no brainer that this is a main contributor as to why over 70% of BMW's sold in the U.S. are leased, because very few people in them right now can actually afford to finance them. i say all of the above to say that I hope this car is truly priced to be attainable to "young professionals" (most of whom I'd imagine to be in their thirties) and not established professionals (those working in corporate for 20+ years) as most BMW's in reality are.

It looked weird to me, too. Too much resemblance to the X5. Maybe someone wanted to test our attention.

Anyway, this so-called teaser photo is the culprit;the original photo could be this one:
The Brand New BMW X5 M Package.jpg

Scott, if I am not rude, when will we see the first official pics of the Concept X1?Or you are not allowed to divulge anything, given your involvement in the promotion of the car?

And once again I have to say that cars don't get any cheaper than they are in the US (or do they?). We pay 1,5 times that.

The E39 was actually imo a pretty considerable time ago. I don't think the E90's price is all that high because from what I've researched, a car optioned out like my E46 sedan came out to $38k back in 2000 without taxes. Add 8 more years to that, plus the fact that BMW had to increase their prices due to the recent car industry crisis, and voila.

Also, for the car to be almost $50k, you must have ticked almost every option possible. As we all know, as soon as you start adding options with German cars, the price starts to go through the roof. My 2 cents.

I don't think so. A 330i costs as much over here as a 550i does over there. Probably even more.

Oh well.
