The 1 series based X1 will share the same platform as the new Mini Crossman SUV and will be a similar size to the Ford Kuga and Toyota RAV4, but expect pricing to come in a little higher than its direct competitors at around 32 000 Euros. The prototype pictured is still under heavy camouflage giving is little cues as to the eventual styling, but we expect a pre production concept model to be presented first – possibly later this year The X1 will inherit the engines from the 1 series range but due to high costs there is little chance of a hybrid engine, with development likely to focus on the new 7-series. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080107.010/bmw-x1-comes-out-in-the-open-once-again

![]() | Re: BMW X1: CGIs, spy pics & info Great! Yet another top-heavy, overweight, waste-of-space image enhancer... In days gone by they'd develop seat belts, or the disc brake, or stability control. Now manufacturers spend their days turning every model in their range into ill handling rollovers Looking For Somewhere To Happen. What a waste.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: BMW X1: CGIs, spy pics & info Latest Huckfeldt's CGI is based on hi-res spy pics ... + on some internal info I guess. Let's comment H's impressions ... The side lines are very accurate ... Yet the lines / creases are a bit pale in this CGI - on the car they look much more exposed & visible. Sloping character line is accurate, so is the concave surface at the bottom of side doors (similar to X3 feature - which is way more angular in comparison to X1's element). Also the doors on the CGI looks way to flat - on the real car they are more convex. Proportions are a bit messed ... as usual for CGI. The car is lower & wider IRL. The hood is quite similar to the real one ... But not 100%. CGI fascia is quite wrong ... grille with those extra intakes is wrong ... headlights are not real ... bumper is really fishy - the outer intakes are not right (should be larger) ... nor are the fog lights (should be positioned higher - just like on X5 & X3). Rear ... tail gate lines are looking OK. Bumper ... let's say OK. Hofmeister kink is not really accurate. Rear lights ... should see bigger pic, can't see them now. But will be similar to 1er coupe + X6 (imagine the mix of these two designs). And expect black plastics on lower parts of both bumpers, wheel arch edges, side skirts - in a typical X-model manner. ![]() |
