![]() | Re: Vw+hpa > ///m & Amg? HPA is the Canadian arm of HGP Turbo of Germany, and most of the rest of the parts are aftermarket as well. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Vw+hpa > ///m & Amg? HPA is notorious for their golf and beetle tuning. their previous job on the R32 made it faster than supercars and gave them a spot on sony's GT4. for those of you who have gt4, you have to try the hpa golf. its probably the best bang for buck car in the whole game. |

![]() | Re: Vw+hpa > ///m & Amg? I like the Passat - except for the brake vents looking so overdone (which I realise is probably the effect they were trying to have), the rear 'diffuser' panel makes the bumper look a lot less bulky. I think white is a decent colour for it, too. Good on them for bothering to make bodykit that consists of more than little lips and plastic cladding stuck on to the car. As for the Jetta, well, it looks really overdone. It's cartoonish! Too bad it still has a big butt and tallish stance. Doesn't look very cohesive from the rear, either, IMO. And Touareg, well, never cared that much for it, personally (no offense). |

![]() | Re: Vw+hpa > ///m & Amg? The turbo kits are expensive, and one shouldn't compare HGP Turbo or HPA Motorsports to AMG or ///M. I guess one could compare the car itself (like the HPA R32) to cars from AMG or ///M since they'll end up costing around the same. R32s are like low 30s and then the "Complete Stage II package is $30,900 with $3,500 for installation," so you're looking at high 60s to low 70s in price which is still cheaper than a new M5. I'm just not sure if the prices on the HPA web site are in USD or Canadian dollars. You're obviously going to want to upgrade the wheels, tires, brakes (maybe), suspension, transmission, etc. on the R32 though to go with these mods. The HPA R32 project car is for sale for $65,000 though (still not sure if it's USD or Canadian). http://www.hpamotorsport.com/conversion_twinturbo.htm http://hgp-turbo.de/vw/r32.html Last edited by Carbon; 11-03-2005 at 07:35 PM. |
