This is a scan of an article from the Winter 1991 issue of Exotic Cars Quarterly...it featured the only legal 959 in the U.S. (at that time, anyway...I don't know if things have changed since 1991).

Very interesting article Jim, thanks. I was always under the impression that Bill Gates' 959 was the first in the country, but technically this was, that's new news to me.

However I think Bill Gates' was a real European spec 959 though, not a race car.

I had no clue that Porsche had tampered with 959's engine abilities so it would not allow the engine to revv properly below 2,500 rpm. Bloody Americans
