Is it an acquired taste or something? Same thing goes with me. The first time I saw the 911, I really didn't like it. To fall in love with a 911 is something like igniting a charcoal. But once you have managed to get it burning, the love affair is so hot it will really melt your heart.

I don't know, I think it's just the fact that growing up I saw cars like the lamborghini, maserati, ferrari, etc, so when I saw the 911 it was quite underwhelming. It was quite boring looking to be honest. Then it wasn't until the 993, with an updated design, that I saw the beauty in 911. I do love the 911, but I'm not in love with it. I guess that has to do with the fact that I've never driven one.

Those are the makes that I am about to mention but I preferred not to mention it right away. Yes, when you are so used to seeing Italians, you will find the 911 just too plain. I remember as a child, I had a Countach picture frame in my room but didn't have the 911. You know, boys can easily fall in love with the likes of Lamborghini, Maserati and Ferrari. But once the boy becomes a man, things might spell differently.

Yes, some say that the 911 is a marriage of contrasts: Sportiness and comfort, design and functionality, tradition and innovation. These are the things that makes a sports car a 911 aside from its distinctive design. Those are the things that not all sports cars have and the very reason why I love the 911 so much.

By the way, if the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (1973) is one of the best, should we include the 993 Carrera RS?

LOL, man I'll mention anything. It don't matter to me, I like cars in general. I too had a pic of the countach in my room. It was a white countach and the writing said that it was the 25th anniversary of the car. I'll tell you this, even until this day I don't have a poster of a 911 and have never had a desktop wallpaper. I love the 911, but it just doesn't get me going visually like other cars do. The only porsche that has been my wallpaper was the Carrera GT. Of course, my opinion might change if I ever drove one.

The 911's visual effect is geared towards "form following function" that is why the 911 is the way it is.

Whoew. The Carrera GT... I so love this car. It is my most favourite Porsche. Yours is a wallpaper, mine is a black 1:18 scale model of it by AUTOart.

According to a review I have seen, the Carrera GT is not an easy car to control but I refuse to believe it even if I haven't driven one in real life.

Yeah, I know about form follows function, but there are a few other cars that do that as well. Porsche is not the only one.

Well, I don't have space for scale models in my room, so no reason to spend money.

Yeah, a few reviews have said that but after watching the videos of it drifting through middle east, yeah, I can handle it. It's just a matter of getting used to it. Actually, most reviews said that as a daily driver it's hard to live with but drive it hard and it's quite awesome.

Also, I'm a sportbike rider and they can get twitchy as hell when pushed hard, and I have also crashed on a bike. So, I'm not really afraid of a car when I have ridden something more dangerous like a bike.

I strongly agree with that. It is just a matter of getting used to it. Once you already are, the rewards are yours to reap.

And the way I see the Carrera GT, it does not say, "drive me to the supermarket". He says, "Drive Me Hard, As Insanely As You Can".

Just like most other supercars. As far as I know, it's only the Mercs that are truly livable on a daily basis as supercars.

If you want a daily driver but a sports car you can do with the 911, and of course the M3, C63, RS4, R8, GT-R, etc.

The R8 included? I didn't know that. Maybe I am wrong. It is because my initial impression of the R8 did not look like a good daily driver. Whatever it is though, I still like the R8. And yes, the M3 especially the E46 M3 CSL. With its knife-edged handling, it goes through the corners like a cat. You can place its four wheels within millimetres on the ideal spot on the road just like the way a cat precisely lands its four paws at high speed. It handles like it's reading your mind. By the way, is it true that when the E46 M3 CSL was still on sale, the audio system and the air-conditioning comes as a no-cost option?

The SLR McLaren? I think so. Yes, it is a good daily driver. Some say that the SLR was, in a way, based on the SLs that's why it's still good for everyday use. Just like the 911 and Kafer relationship.

And let us not forget about the C63 as well as the CL63. People have different reactions when faced with these two cars. Mine is a positive one. The way I see it, the styling of Mercs has become more masculine or muscular or whatever you call it.
