Both the 2.0L Coupe and Roadster models will now be available with the permanent all-wheel drive system, and both come standard with a S-tronic automatic transmission. At the heart of the quattro system is an electronically controlled and hydraulically operated multi-plate clutch, which now works faster than ever thanks to a new pressure reservoir borrowed from the TTS. If required, all of the drive force can be redirected from the front to the rear wheels within a matter of milliseconds. The TFSI four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with direct injection technology remains unchanged, developing a peak output of 200hp (147kW) between 5,100 and 6,000rpm and 280Nm (206lb-ft) of torque from as low as 1,800rpm, and is able to keep this pulling power constant all the way up to 5,000rpm. With a top speed of 238km/h (Roadster 235km/h), the Coupe can sprint from 0 to100km/h in 6.2 seconds, while the Roadster requires just two-tenths of a second more. I drove the TT 2.0 TFSI with FWD on the wet. The traction control was blinking all over the car. 4WD is much appreciated. |

How on earth can this be called permanent all wheel drive if it's a clutch type haldex system ? It's like a landaulet 2 place coupe... It's just not possible... |
