***Toyota Junkyard in Mühldorf***

Passed by the local Toyota/Lexus dealership today as I was walking my dog and I discovered this little "junkyard" in the back of their dealer. With the exception of that 1970s Celica, all cars look in running condition but there are signs of damage or abuse on them, hence the "junkyard" in my title.

I actually like the two Celicas and the Crown sedan. These cars are from the days when Toyotas had something called style - even if the Crown was a semi-rip-off of 1970s American landyachts in smaller form. My dad had a Toyota Crown like this in Guam in the late 1970s but in station wagon form.

Check out this Celica. Was it fished out from a swamp or something? This thing is hot, but the condition is piss poor!

1980s Toyota Celica

Toyota Crown Super Saloon 2.8. These were sold in Germany but they weren't very popular despite their affordable price tag. The same fate awaited its Japanese rival in Germany, the Nissan Laurel.

New Toyota Landcruiser sure looks good. Sucks that there are no smaller engines available for it though.

Yeah, this thing must have been rotting in a damp and wet place.

Re: ***Toyota Junkyard in Mühldorf***

I can only imagine the smell you'd get from those air vents if the A/C were working or a fresh air vent were opened. Yikes. Looks like that Crown model was are Cressida here in the U.S. back in the day.

Awesome to see any of those old Toyotas in Germany. A totally rarity for sure.

I have a soft spot for the old Celica GT. That was a great car.

I also spotted a late 1970s / early 1980s Nissan Laurel but I accidentally deleted the pictures. I have a thing for Japanese cars from that period.

There's a Toyota Museum in Northern Germany I really want to visit sometime. It mainly showcases Toyotas that were sold in Germany in the 1970s and 1980s - the time when Toyota made cars that had style. Cressidas, Crowns, Celicas and even the Corolla from that era looked decent.

Same here. All Celicas were wonderful designs IMO - but that all changed with the early 1990s version. Don't get me started on the last-generation version, which is like a bad ending to a good movie.
