4/5/6 gear: 3.9/6.2/8.3 4.5/6.7/8.9

Weight: 1772kg 1745kg

I don't understand why C63 which is the weakest AMG car with 6.2L engine and also not the lightest(here you see CLK63 B.S was lighter) is still the fastest and most flexible AMG car with 6.2L engine. It is a mystery to me! Up to 200km/h it is almost as fast as the M5.Is it really 457hp or like R35 GT-R is it underrated?maybe like GTR, C63 has 457hp at wheels and more than 500hp at the flywheel!!
CLK63 Black Series was supposed to be the fastest AMG with 6.2L engine. It is lighter than C63 and also has more power and torque with the same gearing but C63 is still faster!! I can't understand why C63 is even faster than CLK63 B.S??? because C63 has no advantage over CLK63 B.S.
Interesting is the fact that the cheapest AMG car with 6.2L engine is the fastest 6.2L of them all.
What makes this car so fast?Anyone can shed some light?
A friend of mine had a play with a new c63 amg the other day and it left him for dead. He was amazed, I would have never thought there would be such a big gap as his car will hang on to a new M3, but he said this AMG just destroyed him.

The C63 is such a flippping brilliant car. People are so hung up about the m3's dynamics etc, and in the process forget about the c63's major merits.

I would take the c63 over the m3, the looks, the poise, the noise from that V8 and its ridicoulous pace.

Match made in heaven.

AMG's done good.

One thing that is often over looked is traction, and it seems could be the reason why the C63 delivered better numbers than the CLK63.
Traction becomes a problem when there is either too much torque to the wheels or the vehicle is just too light for the amount of torque from the engine.

There are several ways you can improve traction:
1. A complex electronic control system that manages the amount of power/torque that is delivered to the wheels at launch(traction control).

2. Reduce the Torque such that what is sent to the wheels is all delivered to the tarmac. The complex traction control does this in milliseconds or nanoseconds.

3. Use of downforce. This can be achieved aerodynamically with rear wings or mechanically by increasing the weight of the car on the rear if it is RWD, front mounted engine. Note that mechanical solution carries a weight penalty, but it does address the issue of traction.

There are however other possible scenarios.
One is that the test conditions could be different, we know how temperature affects lap times on the same track. One thing that is not stated in those numbers is the temperature of test cases.
Secondly, are they done on the same surface? The surface type affects the results as well.
Then there is also the issue of the type of tyre that both vehicles are equiped with, and the state of the tyres as well.
