Turning off the seatbelt reminder in a Volvo?

The car in question: 2008 Volvo V70 2.0 Flexifuel

Once past 30km/h the reminder rings so loud and annoying it's unbearable. I know the thought behind this is good but there is no escape that it's damn annoying! Is there any way of turning this off or reducing the volume?

The volume in our previous 2005 V70 was no problem on the other hand.

Go to the scrap yard bring a knife and cut a belt open and take the clip..
put the clip in your volvo..and voila

If you dont want to go ghetto, well then contact a high end workshop and they should be able to take it away..

Yeah easy. Put your seatbelt on.

Yeah, Duh!
But sometimes when the car is moving there are times where one does have to unbuckle the seat belt, to take off a coat, or just stretch to grab something. And even during such short periods it is very loud and extremely annoying! The volume should at least be lowered.

Lol what activities to you engage in when you're driving over 30km/h, visiting the back seat to grab some boob and ass?

There are many annoying things in life. I think a seatbelt alarm for a brief period of time while you are taking off your jacket is the least of worries.

Re: Turning off the seatbelt reminder in a Volvo?

You drive a Volvo? Argh jeez the things people do to drive and I have a pretty good idea! Go to your local hardware store purchase a good size hammer for about 2.99 then next time the reminder goes off place hammer in both hands, bring hammer up and smash the hell out of the enter console

Need any more help...jut ask

Re: Turning off the seatbelt reminder in a Volvo?

My dealer offered me once to turn this sound off for free, but i refused, since it's a great way to make my wife wear her seatbelt

BTW, why did you get the FlexiFuel technology?

Re: Turning off the seatbelt reminder in a Volvo?

I'll see if my dad can get a similar arrangement with his dealer, hopefully they can do it
My dad works for the government, which buys the car for him so he's forced to go eco.

And with today's fuelprices the E85 saves him alot of money.
