While we were snooping around the NASIOC forums (North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club), we stumbled upon this beautifully modified ’06 Subaru Impreza WRX STi that completely blew us off with its vicious, yet very clean appearance. The owner of the ’06 Impreza WRX STi that goes by the alias “IStoSTi”, tastefully modded the car without going overboard at any point, creating one of the most pant-wetting examples of this model we’ve seen so far. If we ever manage to gather enough dough to obtain an STi, this one would definitely serve as a perfect example of what to do with it next.

Very nice, a clean and tastefully done aftermarket job without introducing the "fast 'n furious" factor.

"Perrin Signature Series FMIC (Stealthified)", I gather refers to the front mounted intercooler (FMIC). People who know Scoobs will know that the intake scoop on the bonnet isn't just for show but feeds air to the top mounted intercooler on regular turbo'd Subarus. In this example the (larger) intercooler is now front mounted in a more efficient location to improve performance. It does this for two reasons:
- It is less susceptible to heat soak from the engine compared with the top-mounted unit
- It is placed more directly in the path of the airflow for better air-to-air throughput
The above resulting in a more efficient cooling thus giving denser inlet air for enhanced volumetric efficiency. In plain and simple terms; more air (oxygen) and thus more fuel can be added giving a bigger bang and hence more power...
