Re: Gumball McLaren SLR brake failure

Screw the brakes, who's the blonde????

Seriously, ceramic brakes can act like real cermaics: they break. Naturally, they're a little hardier than you average china plate, but they are still not as flexible as metal.

That Blonde is hot.... problem with the video is it didnt focus much on here....

As for the brakes, looked worn... whatever, dont know how they lifted that carbon fiber body without snapping it?

My friends SLR needs a special lift at a special MB service station that is prepared to handle a SLR.

I don't think that just because it is a carbon fiber body it would break. The car is pretty rigid.

So he wasted away the inner pad or the pad cracked?

Re: Gumball McLaren SLR brake failure

BMWFREAK.... Well with these cars you have to be EXTREMELY careful,a dn as per the dealer they specifically have a special setup for this car... It cannot be lifted in any other way... the stress will crack the Chassis. If the guy doesnt car about this $465K toy, oh well.

Re: Gumball McLaren SLR brake failure

I remember Gullwing saying the same thing about the Gullwing, that if you lift it wrong the jack will break the chassis because the tubes are thin and not designed to take that kind of load.

Oh wow! So that is why when you get in an accident with the car the car goes bye bye.

What about the Enzo, and CGT?

Isn't the SLR pretty heavy though?

Re: Gumball McLaren SLR brake failure

Yes the CGT and Enzo both have CF tubs, and yes the SLR is heavy.
