I will have to disagree with you here. You really cant compare this to the Bugatti Veyron interior. I think the Bugatti Veyron interior cant be compared to any car. The Bugatti is in a different league.

I really cant judge the interior of the SLC from these low quality pictures but from what i see it look so American... not very mbish...

I wasn't comparing the entire interior to the Veyron, just the front seat divider surrounding the gear lever.

One of the pictures in Luwalira's post doesn't show (at least not on my screen, I even tried copy-pasting the picture's url on the browser's address bar). I'm guessing it's this one?

Lol, BMW Designworks USA designed that espresso machine, not someone from Italy. BMW builds Ultimate Espresso Machine for Starbucks - Autoblog

And as for SLCs 'rummage the parts bin' interior, wasn't some MB fan boys going on recently about how 7er and 3er have the same I Drive knob and MB never does stuff like that.

re: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (spy shots & info)

The disappointing thing with the SLC is that the whole centre console and dashbaord doesnt work. It's a lame parts-bin effort.

I salute Porsche for their courage and determination to redesign the air-conditioning switchgear and the PCM Sat-Nav/Audio/Video control module. The designers knew the original design didn't work and re-designed them at great expense.

Mercedes-AMG should do the same thing and get rid of the E-Class and C-Class switchgears and those pathetic shiny plastics around the gearshifter. The SLC is not a limited edition model (sub-1,000 units). The forecast production volume for both the coupe and the cabriolet will be around 6,000-7,000. Why Mercedes didn't spend more money on the interior is beyond me. This again shows they haven't learned anything from the failure of the McMerc SLR.

After seeing pics in a magazine, I think i can safely say that the gearbox is the 'normal' and familiar MB AUTO. There's columns for P,D,N and R only. So not Sequential, though it might have some 'automanual' mode. Even looking at this pic u can see d marks just to the left of the gear lever^

And the engine spin is closer to the 7,200rpm mark, rather than 9k.

re: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (spy shots & info)

PDATE~!!!!!!

Mercedes-AMG are edging closer to the reveal of a concept version of the AMG SLC/Gullwing, I have recently seen pictures of a development mule, and as time gets closer and closer the car is loosing more and more camoflage. I have seen plenty of CGI pictures of the car, but the way the car will look is truly something unique from any of them! The cockpit pics are very real, and the car will feature a new 7 speed MCT transaxle, that will send all the horsepower to the rear wheels, and with the current figures of 580 BHP, I think thats a little low personally, especially since AMG has HWA working with them on development of the chassis, and engine. I have heard there is a chance this engine will feature a twin-turbo set up so I'm figuring close to 620 BHP. The body for this car will be made of carbon fiber and aluminum, to keep weight very low. The SLC/Gullwing will be more of a GT, where as the McLaren P11 will be a true sportscar.

Also I have to update everyone on Project Black Hammer, as I'm to understand it the project is moving ahead very well, and recently has been slated to carry the newly developed 6.0 liter twin-turbo direct injection V-8 from AMG, this will possibly be the first car to feature this new engine, this engine will produce a rumored 800 BHP. The carbon fiber monocoque chassis as I hear it will be developed by HWA/AMG, and will be attached to aluminum subframes/crash structures, expect this car to be a front mid-engined supercar. The interior of this car will feature a 2 seat arrangment, with thet tunnel cover made as thin as possible. The Black Hammer will be the AMG successor of the SLR and could very well carry that name if Mercedes sees fit to use it again on a even more extreme supercar?!

Not to be out done McLaren has started development on there own SLR successor. This new supercar will have more horsepower then before. This time around McLaren wil got it alow on development of this new supercar, it will be powered by a version of the SLR 722's supercharged 5.5 liter V-8 that is currently being reworked by Mahle for the P11, this new engine will possibly be larger in displacement, and will produce close to 680 BHP. the cars new target is Ferrari's 599 GTB Fiorano. This car will be a front mid-engined supercar with styling by Frank Stephenson, so expect this car to feature some F1 styling, but with more modern McLaren design Language, to keep it unique as well as tie it to the rest fo the McLaren family.
