Very much true. I was pointing out that the redline is a mere 7200 rpm, but forgot to mention that I think that this interior is absolutely horrible looking. A real disaster indeed. Cheap and ugly. Yuck, who would have thought....???

9000 rpm redline in a Mercedes. That would convert me in a heartbeat if true

yeah, sadly the dials saying 9000 rpm doesn't mean the engine will actually rev so far....It will stop revving at 7k.

This interior makes me think of something Chrysler. The new Crossfire or something. Very ugly for a MB imo.

I suspect that this will be a very high end interior which will look gorgeous in colours in conjac. Seems more high end than the S and CL. Will bridge the gap between MB and MM with top notch German craftsmanship. Just look at the full leather interior, stitches across the entire interior, even around the instrument cluster. This is to make sure the car fits right in amongst the big boys:





Center console reminds me of the one in the recent Volvo's. A floating one piece console.

Hahaha, the 911 interior is far from being a 'big boy' Luw. It's BY FAR the worst part of the car.

I don't know why Mercedes didn't go the whole hog and give the SLC some bespoke centre console control buttons and switches.

Maybe Mercedes and AMG have spent all the money on the engine, transmission, and the chassis that they had no money left to spend on the interior...........................

That faux aluminium slab, the E Class COMAND control, the C Class air-cond module just don't go together. IMHO, the faux aluminium parts would be much better if they are replaced by carbon fibre. But if it was up to me, I'd re-design the entire centre console. It looks cheap and too similar to the SL's.

If Dr Dieter Zetsche or Dr Volker Mornhinweg are reading this, please do something about the interior (you still have time!!). If the SLC is not going to beat the Porsche 911 GT3 in terms of performance, at least make it look better than the Porsche on the inside and out!
