I'm wondering too why people are calling this car a flop when it comes to sales? I mean it has outsold all the other cars in the segment hasn't it? Is it or is it not selling up to Mercedes' projections? Anyone have the numbers?

well i think recently porsche had just made its 1111 carrera GT? or something like that.......i think mclaren make that amount per year easily....then what other competitors does it have...enzo.....they ony made a few of them....so its rather hard to compare it to anything, may be the murcielago but thats quite a bit cheaper...

I don't know. If he is, it sounds like the AMG boys will have a lot of work set before them. That's a lot of different engines.

I don't know sounds a little fishy to me, but you never know. If Mercedes/Mclaren does make such a car it will definetly cause a ruckus in the sports car ranks. I still want the car to be a Mercedes in name, but I want MC to do all the chassis tuning with AMG supplying the engine and Mercedes doing the interior, but the main thing is that this thing must be Ferrari hard-core with a kick-ass AMG engine. NO GT STUFF.

Good call Roberto... it's exactly why I'm also against a BMW supercar. Audi, BMW and Audi are just not made for these kinds of cars... Porsche, Pagani and Lambo on the hand. Honestly, I would be extremely impressed if instead of getting something of an SLR sucessor, we got a sucessor to the McLaren F1. Now that would be an extremely special car
