I would like to know if anyone has any information about the SLR coupe.. I heard that the production of the Coupe version has been stopped and the factory is not accepting any orders on new cars.. is this information true or not..

I had heard Mercedes was planning to build 3,500 units over a 7 year period.

6, maybe 7 months ago Mercedes had said they had just assembled their 1000th unit.

Haven't much any other information than that.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere too that the Roadster was all there is for now. Makes sense IMO, there is no way I'd buy the coupe over the roadster and the coupe was becoming a tough sell anyway. IMO, the coupe and roadster will get some type of facelift in 2009 to see them off.

I heard that coupe production was finished for good. The convertible is its attempt to milk anything left out of the market. MB screwed up with the SLR. No way the market will sustain these kind of numbers on a $400k car.

I sold our 2006 SLR and it ended up bringing less than $350k.
