It has 63 miles on it.
I am not 100% sure but what I gather. The supercharger was put together incorrectly and when the clutch engaged it locked up and damaged the clutch and ripped the wires out of the magnetic clutch. The fix... to replace the supercharger. 2-3 hour job on most 55 amgs. Now on an SLR with the engine under the windshield, you have to remove the engine. To remove the engine, most of the front and under pieces of the car have to come off.
how can Mclaren get it so wrong... the car was built by a group of expert technicians in the Mclaren Technology centre with the best trained people and the most high tech equipment. Ron won't be happy
Mclaren didn't build the supercharger or the engine, AMG did.
But why did they not pick up on the loud noise coming from the engine?
It had 50 miles on it when it was dropped off a the dealership, I am sure it was test driven before it was shipped.
