I hope not. Ferrari S-class and Ferrari MM. I would shoot myself it that happens.

Yeah that is ture. When it comes to sport cars the three German giants do lack the hotness and respect of the more established sport car brands.

That would never happen, never in a million years! Ferrari is all about Sport!
but I do believe the SLR might be the first German car with some exotic flavor, that most, if not all German cars lack.

God point the SLR is indeed very exotic looking and fits despite it's badge perfect in amongst Ferraris and Lambos. Beside Porsche cars which are more semi-exotic the SLR is in fact the only exotix German car at this moment. I would like BMW and Audi to step up and produce exotic cars which exterior wise compete with Astons and Lambos.

The whole idea of an exotic design is to be #1 odd-different #2 beautiful.

With designs like this you either love them or hate them.

Re: SLR - What does the future hold for it?

MB should maybe extend the power to e.g. 650/670 hp and offer a variable damping system.

Currently it has only the possiblity of the a sport mode which adjusts gear switching speed but no damping adjusting.

I've got this year the possibilty to be a passenger for a longer trip and to be honest: the ride is a little bit to harsh for long distance travels (car was equipped with 19" inch rims ).

Re: SLR - What does the future hold for it?

The Mclaren SLR is easily the most exciting super car to look at since the F40/Countach era. The only thing that was really missing from it was a proper tranny. Six or seven ratios is really the standard for the 21st century, and I don't really see why they didn't offer something like that as an option.

Re: SLR - What does the future hold for it?

Yeah man i gotta agree with you guys.. the SLR is one damn fine looking car.. its so damn good looking.. it hurts.. it really deserves the name SIlver Arrow.. it truely is.. many things are gr8 about the SLR.. first off the design.. and then the damn sound it makes is very unique and nice.. and the fact that the power is so easy to use compared to other hardcore supercars.. im sure there are many that dont like that last point.. they want a supercar to be raw as hell.. but i gotta say its not a bad thing to have easy accecable power..
So imo dont do anything to the SLR it is fine as it is..
Concentrate or other supercar projects like a smaller car to rival the 430 and a dream come true would be a Supercar released under the Mclaren name so that MB didnt have to make it all MBish.. so that it could be raw as hell.. and use a MB engine and stuff... more or less a true sucessor to the McL F1..

Maybe because the car was already in production when the new 7G was introduced. When was the Vision SLR introduced?

The SLR beats all other super cars in terms of safety and comfort, and I think that was MB's intention with the SLR. It might not beat the competition performance wise, but it beats them in everything else. It’s an everyday luxury coupe, not a track car.

Re: SLR - What does the future hold for it?

I'm not necessarily talking about the 7G. I don't feel like that part of the car needs to be MB made, something from Ricardo would suffice; I even think they had 7-speed DSGs at that time.
