SLR Convertible Getting Closer! -
02-16-2007, 03:39 AM
Mercedes has confirmed it will unveil a convertible version of the McLaren SLR this summer. It will be one of the world's fastest convertibles, with a 0-60 mph time of around four seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.
No details or official images have been released, but it's expected the styling will borrow heavily from the original Vision SLR cabrio concept. It debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1999, nine months after the coupe prototype was unveiled inDetroit.
The lambo 640LP roadster is as fast as the coupe, which is faster than the SLR. Unless they add some power or keep weight down, I dont see how the SLR roadster can be any faster, unless their 722 moniker on the roadster denotes the power, and not a moment in history.
I would love the roadster SLR to trump the competition in terms of power and speed, however, there is some pretty darn good competition out there. MB awoke some sleeping lions with their power games.
