On the Road: The original SLK was cute but compromised. It had a trick retractable hardtop, but was cramped inside and never had sports-car-appropriate powertrains. The new-for-2005 SLK350 was beefier looking, faster, bigger inside, and just better all around. A year later, the SLK280 version was introduced, providing a lower-priced, smaller-engined alternative for those who couldn't hack the 350's price tag. For 2009, the entry-level SLK gets a mild update, although the basic story stays much the same.

Mercedes is on crack when it comes to pricing their Nav option, and some other options.

Nav technoligy is not "cutting edge." You can buy a Garmin unit off the shelf that runs circles around the Mercedes Nav, and is about 1/4th the costs.

Get over yourselves MB. they charge 1,100 for Keyless Go, that many competitors offer as standard.

These options really hurt the SLK. If you get one really loaded you are bumping $60k.

The Ipod should integrate into the radio head unit and not the multi-function display.

Yep I happen to agree!
MB needs to start opting out their entery level cars especially one of this status. This has really hurt them in the past and might still do so.. Some (if not most )
of those toys are key 21st century features to the brand (and most other brands). Heck, this is not a Toyota. It`s time to wake up indeed.
