Uh oh this is right then I have lost a bet on MBWorld about their being a SLK63. I don't get why they wouldn't up the power to at least 400hp from the Black Series version????
Could it be we're going to see the SL, SLK and GLK at Detroit? Sounds like a bit too much for Motown, but we'll see.
Yeah I agree with you. It was a bit disappointing to see the 5.5 V8 isn't being replaced by the 6.2 V8 engine, and it is even more disappointing to see the power of the 5.5V8 remains the same as before. The normwl MB 5.5 V8 produce even more power than this, so AMG really should give the new car more power.
Another thing I have noticed is that the new SLK55 AMG come with 4 piston front caliper and 2 piston rear caliper. The older version uses 6 piston front and 4 piston right? So does the new caliper offer the same swept area as the older brakes? I would think the brake pads aren't as large as before.

I tried to give you a "heads up" by posting my MBUSA dealer release info last week only here and not on MBWworld. If it's any consolation, I was as shocked as you when I learned of the 55 perpetuation in the SLK. My only guess would be it's a fit issue, pending the adoption of the Euro regs on the SLK.
